Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Scripture Scribe ("the app"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

## 1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Scripture Scribe, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

## 2. Account Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account using email/password, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate account information
- Maintaining the security of your account
- All activity that occurs under your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

## 3. Subscriptions and Payments

Scripture Scribe offers optional premium subscriptions:
- **Weekly**: $1.99/week (auto-renewing)
- **Monthly**: $5.99/month (auto-renewing)
- **Yearly**: $39.99/year (auto-renewing, includes 7-day free trial)
- **Lifetime**: $79.99 (one-time purchase)

All subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store. By subscribing, you agree to the following:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
- Auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings
- Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription
- Prices may vary by region and are subject to change

Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy.

## 4. User-Generated Content

Scripture Scribe allows you to create and share content including community posts, prayer requests, gratitude entries, daily question answers, and comments ("User Content").

By posting User Content, you:
- Retain ownership of your content
- Grant Scripture Scribe a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display your content within the app
- Confirm that your content does not violate these Terms

You agree **not** to post content that:
- Is illegal, abusive, threatening, or harassing
- Contains hate speech or discrimination
- Is sexually explicit or pornographic
- Infringes on intellectual property rights
- Contains spam, advertisements, or solicitations
- Impersonates another person
- Contains malware or harmful links

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms without notice.

## 5. Content Moderation

Users can report inappropriate content through the app. Reported content will be reviewed by our team. Content that receives multiple reports may be automatically hidden pending review. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these Terms.

## 6. Bible Content

Bible text displayed in the app is retrieved from API.Bible and is subject to the copyright and licensing terms of the respective Bible translations. Scripture Scribe does not claim ownership of any Bible text.

## 7. AI-Generated Content

Certain features (such as daily devotionals) use AI technology (Anthropic Claude) to generate content. AI-generated content is provided for inspirational and educational purposes and should not be considered a substitute for personal Bible study, pastoral counsel, or professional advice.

## 8. Intellectual Property

Scripture Scribe and its original content (excluding User Content and Bible text) are the property of the developers. The app's design, features, and functionality are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

## 9. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the app (Settings > Delete Account). Upon deletion:
- All personal data, bookmarks, notes, habits, and saved items are permanently deleted
- Profile photos and annotation images are removed from storage
- Your Firebase Authentication account is deleted
- Previously posted community content will remain but will no longer be linked to your account

## 10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time.

## 11. Disclaimers

Scripture Scribe is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- The app will be available at all times without interruption
- The app will be free of errors or bugs
- AI-generated content will be accurate or complete

## 12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scripture Scribe and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

## 13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date.

## 14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable law.
